Established in 2021 at the Faculty of Education at Western University by Dr. Colin King, our graduate research group is dedicated to advancing research in school and applied/clinical psychology for children and youth, with a focus on mental health, education, and family support.
Our aim is to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and professional practices in school psychology, fostering collaborative research centered on authentic problems of practice. Our graduate students are engaged in professional graduate programs in School and Applied Child Psychology and Counselling Psychology at the Faculty of Education.
Vision – To enhance mental health and promote effective learning for all children and youth through evidence-based approaches in our homes, schools, and communities.
Mission – To mobilize knowledge and cultivate a shared understanding of effective approaches and strategies through collaborative research partnerships with families, educators, schools, and professionals.
Values - We advocate for research and working methods that are collaborative and co-created, transparent, strength-based and anti-racist, strategic with a high degree of practical application, and informed by various forms and levels of evidence.

School psychology involves the application of knowledge about human behaviour, mental health, and development to understand the social, emotional, and learning needs of children, adolescents, and adults. This field plays a crucial role in the work of research groups focused on creating learning environments that promote mental health and overall well-being (CPO, 2022).
